RCOBEC Foundation Received this message from the Greater Houston Community Foundation

Nearly one year ago, the Greater Houston area was ravaged by one of the most devastating storms to ever hit the state of Texas. While much of the story since the day Hurricane Harvey made landfall has been of tragedy and strife, it has also been one of togetherness and strength. Of supporting one another and showing the world what it means to be a community.

You are a key reason for this positivity.

Your donation, in collaboration with the inspiring efforts of local government and nonprofit organizations, has created a meaningful and positive impact on countless lives across the Greater Houston area. The progress we have made wouldn’t have been possible without you. On behalf of Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, and the entire Houston community, thank you for donating to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

Together, we raised more than $114 million. Over the course of four rounds of grants, we distributed approximately $109 million to 123 local nonprofit organizations who have taken the funds directly to the most impacted regions and most vulnerable residents in our community. The Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund will continue to distribute the remaining funds to support nonprofit organizations’ efforts to provide much needed resources and aid to individuals and families who are still picking up the pieces.

While the effects of Hurricane Harvey will be felt for years, the resilience that our community displayed through it all proves that we are truly greater together. The following video was created to capture this spirit of togetherness and support, sharing a few examples of the overwhelming strength and heroism that we have witnessed over these last several months.
